Water quality monitoring shows that nitrate is present in groundwater throughout much of Pennsylvania at relatively low concentrations, but in areas of intense farming the nitrate-nitrogen concentration may approach or exceed the EPA drinking water limit of 10 mg/L. In addition, there are isolated cases where the concentration of nitrate-nitrogen downgradient of large volume on-site wastewater disposal sites, septic/solids disposal, and landfills may exceed the drinking water limit.
The Woder 10K-DC by itself does remove organics and synthetic pesticides and even though the formula utilizes a blend of technologies including ion adsorption media…it is not made to greatly reduce either Nitrates or Nitrites.
Should removing nitrates is a must, Our Dual Cartridge Woder FRM (Fluoride Filter – World’s Best Dual Stage Residential Fluoride Removal Filtration System that Consistently Removes 95% of Fluoride) might be the solution. A customer may opt to exchange the Fluoride reduction cartridge for an Nitrate and Nitrite reduction cartridge.
