Our Sediment Removal Cartridge (Stage 1) is engineered to capture these particulates while protecting the Advanced Filtration Cartridge (Stage 2) from premature clogging.

The combination of a WD-20m-REP 20µ sediment removal (First stage) and ADV Filtration facilitates the removal of lead, aluminum, heavy metals, chlorine (99%), contaminants (99%), mercury, PFCs, PFAS, glyphosate, chromium 6, copper, nitrates, turbidity, chloramines, VOCs, odors, bad tastes, sediment, dust, dirt, and contaminants.

DOES NOT FIT BRAIDED HOSES.

It’s a dual stage water filter built specifically for households seeing visible sediment, whether that’s from well water or older plumbing shedding rust and particulate. Rather than running that sediment straight into a Gen4 cartridge and shortening its life, this combo catches it first.
Why Run Two Stages Instead of One
Running two stages instead of one isn’t just extra hardware for its own sake. Sediment is abrasive and can clog filtration media faster than it should, so pulling it out ahead of the Gen4 stage protects that cartridge and typically extends how long it lasts before needing a swap. As a dual stage water filter system, this setup is meant to keep both cartridges doing the job they’re actually built for, rather than asking one filter to handle everything.
Both stages install using John Guest quick-connect fittings on standard quarter-inch lines, matching the same refrigerator, ice-maker, and RV setups the rest of our inline family fits. There’s no difference in install complexity compared to a single-stage filter, you’re just connecting two cartridges in sequence instead of one.
