Removal Capabilities

The WD-G4-REP Advanced Gen4 Filtration cartridge removes 99.9% of lead, heavy metals, chlorine, chromium 6, mercury, volatile organic compounds, carcinogens, turbidity, odor, and bad taste. Claims tested by CLB Labs. Also replaces the WD-S-8K / WD-S-8K-REP / WD-Gen3.

The WD-HMG4-REP is built on the same Advanced Gen4 platform as the WD-G4-REP but loaded with additional heavy metal removal media — designed for homes and offices where heavy metal levels exceed the EPA’s recommended limits. If your water supply tests high for lead or other heavy metals, this is the cartridge for your first stage.

Tracking your install date is the most reliable approach — performance on a spent cartridge tends to decline gradually rather than stopping abruptly, which makes it easy to miss. A calendar reminder set at installation keeps you ahead of it. Reordering a little early costs far less than running an underperforming system for months without realizing it.
